These parfaits are more than just a dessert; they are a celebration of flavor and ease. My taste buds have truly never been happier, and I’m confident yours will agree.

The Inspiration: A Birthday Treat for Dad
A few weeks ago, it was my Dad’s birthday. And like many men, he has a particular fondness for liqueur. Naturally, I wanted to create something truly special for him – a dessert that combined all of his favorite elements into one magnificent treat. That’s where the idea for these Kahlua Raspberry Cheesecake Parfaits was born. I envisioned a dessert that was rich, creamy, and carried that distinctive warmth of coffee liqueur, perfectly balanced by fresh, tart fruit.
The challenge was to craft a dessert that felt indulgent and celebratory, yet was simple enough to prepare without too much fuss. Knowing Dad’s appreciation for well-balanced flavors, I aimed for a harmonious blend of sweetness, a hint of tang, and that underlying coffee note from the Kahlua. The result surpassed all expectations, proving to be the perfect homage to his special day.

A Dessert That Captivates Everyone (Even Without the Liqueur!)
I would honestly say the only “downside” to these parfaits is the fact that my children – yes, all three of them – have been relentlessly begging me to make them again ever since. Of course, their versions were happily Kahlua-free, but they still captured all the incredible flavors of the creamy cheesecake, tart raspberries, and sweet chocolate that made the adult version so irresistible. This speaks volumes about the universal appeal of this recipe. It’s a versatile dessert that can be adapted for all ages and preferences, making it a fantastic choice for family gatherings or adult-only celebrations.
The base elements of rich cream cheese, vibrant raspberries, and a hint of coffee (optional for the kids, naturally) are so inherently delicious that the Kahlua simply elevates it for a more grown-up palate. It’s a testament to how good the core components are, ensuring everyone at the table, regardless of their age or dietary preference, can enjoy a truly delightful dessert experience.

Unpacking the Irresistible Flavor Experience
Imagine this: luscious, bright raspberries, gently melting into a velvety ‘cheesecake’ layer that’s delicately flavored with a hint of robust coffee. This is then crowned with a cloud of sweet, Kahlua-infused whipped cream – a dreamy texture that truly lives up to its name. Finally, a small, glistening river of rich chocolate sauce cascades through the layers, adding an extra dimension of decadent flavor and visual appeal. Every component plays a crucial role, building a symphony of tastes and textures in a single glass.
The beauty of these parfaits lies in their layers. The slightly tangy and sweet raspberries cut through the richness of the cheesecake and cream, offering a burst of freshness. The Kahlua adds a profound depth, a warm, coffee-infused whisper that makes this dessert feel truly special and luxurious. And the chocolate? It’s the perfect finishing touch, marrying all the flavors together with its familiar, comforting sweetness.

Safe to say, I think my Dad loved this dessert even more than the thoughtful gifts we presented him with! With each and every spoonful, you’re not just promised a delightful hit of Kahlua, but also the magic of those raspberries. They naturally melt down through the creamy layers, creating the most exquisite, sweet, and tangy syrup that infuses the entire parfait with incredible fruit flavor. It’s a sensory experience that delivers pure bliss from the first bite to the last.
The way the chilled cream cheese mixture interacts with the slightly thawed raspberries creates a wonderful dynamic. The coolness of the cream and the slight warmth of the melting raspberries, coupled with the subtle coffee and Kahlua notes, makes for a complex yet perfectly balanced profile. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes and savor every moment.

For those preferring lower fat, light cream cheese and low-fat whipped cream can be used. And for a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the Kahlua or replace it with a touch of coffee extract or a non-alcoholic coffee syrup. The core flavors remain delightful, ensuring everyone can enjoy a version tailored to their needs.

Creamy Kahlua Raspberry Cheesecake Parfaits
Ingredients
Cheesecake:
- 1 1/2 cups cream cheese of choice room temperature
- 1/4 cup low fat Greek yogurt (for LCHF: pure cream)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sweetener or granulated sugar of choice
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee dissolved in 1 tablespoon boiling water cooled to room temperature, optional
- 2-4 tablespoons Kahlua adjust to preferred strength
- 1 1/2 cups frozen raspberries
Cream:
- 1 cup whipping cream or sub with light/low fat whipped cream
- 1 tablespoon confectioners sweetener/sugar
- 1 tablespoon Kahlua optional
Chocolate Sauce:
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips of choice sugar free or normal
- 3 tablespoons almond milk or preferred milk
Instructions
-
Combine the cream cheese, yogurt and sweetener/sugar in a small bowl and beat until smooth. Stir the cooled pre-brewed coffee through the mix. Add the Kahlua starting with 1 tablespoon at a time until reaching your desired taste (I used 3 tablespoons, but you make like less or more depending on your tastes).
-
Divide 1 cup of the raspberries amongst 6 small glasses and place them into the base of each glass; add the ‘cheesecake’ mixture over the raspberries and place them into the refrigerator to ‘set.’
-
In a separate bowl, combine the cream and sweetener/sugar together, and beat until small peaks begin to form. Stir the Kahlua through (if adding it in); set aside.
-
Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each break, until fully melted. Add the milk slowly while whisking with a fork until combined and smooth. (Alternatively, place the chocolate chips in a small heatproof bowl over a pan of boiling water on the stove and stir until melted.)
-
Remove the parfaits from the fridge; divide the cream amongst the glasses and top with remaining raspberries. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and serve!
